With new IPs you want to have more content than links. You also don't want a majority of your links to be linked images. I've had problems with that until the ips have a better reputation.

Hi Nickphx,

Thanks to clarify our doubts.

We are using the same content in Hotmail and AOl for last 2 months. we didn't face any problem yet. So i started yahoo with the same content.

we are using very small html content (text/html;), with 8 lines. ( 4 img src tag and 4 anchor tab for redirection ).But we are losing New Ips in yahoo which we started warming ( Getting GL01).

So can u suggest some content or link where we can get standard content.

Thanks.

HI Nickphx,

Thanks for your pmta configuration.I configured as u mentioned.

I think you are working with white-listed IP. I work on new ips.
I haven't had whitelisted ips with yahoo for a few months now. Sad

You said that your are able to send 10k/day/ip.
In one stroke i able to 250 mails and trucked by TS01 , if i continued again after an 2 hour I Able to sent another 250 mails. In a day i can reach max 3K/IP/day.

Then your content is really spammy.

How many times u will send to reach 10k/day/ip.

Do u need to check out your open , click , fbl rate. If so what is best ratio u suggest to have.

Do u send transactional mails or Promotional mails with your Ip. I use my ip for sending Promotional Mails for Double-optin users.

Thanks
I don't have an exact number on that. I do check the metrics to make sure I'm not getting too many complaints. I send a mixture of promotion and transactional.

I've had success warming up yahoo with the following settings:

For my <source> directive:
add-date-header override
date-header-time delivery
add-message-id-header yes
hide-message-source yes
add-received-header no
verp-default yes

for <domain yahoo.com/co.uk/etc.>
dk-sign yes
dkim-sign yes
max-smtp-out 10
mx-connection-attempts 5
max-msg-per-connection 15
retry-after 10m
421-means-mx-unavailable yes

I also have SPF configured for the mailing domains. I send 10k/day/ip for about two weeks, ramping up the volume by about 2-5k/day. I test delivery to see if I receive less deferrals.
If so, I bump up the amount of connections and volume.
If you have a good reputation with your subscribers, you can suggest they add you to their yahoo contacts list. You can provide simple instructions for that in the header of your message body.

I don't think there's much you can do about GL01 aside from your users adding you to their contacts list. I would start warming up new ips Sad Sometimes I've had success by using a different domain in the message body for the links than the domain used as the mail from address. I've also had success by changing/adding a subdomain in the links off of the mail from address. It all comes down to experimenting and finding what works. Your issues with sending only 3 transactional messages and seeing the GL01 could be naughty network neighbors. If someone under the same /19 has abused yahoo or has foul yahoo reputation, it could cause you problems. If that is the case, your best bet would be to get new ips or contact yahoo and hope Cheesy

hi nickphx,

As Mr.RoseBox mentioned i lost 3 Ip's by getting the Error "GL01".
is there any possibility of avoiding GL01 Error by Altering Headers and Creative.
is there any preferred Header for Yahoo specifically?

as i'm new working with yahoo, can you suggest me how to warm new IP's with PMTA and how to initialize the process?

Yahoo is basically a PAIN IN THE @ss

We just setup brand new domain, brand new IP's , sent 3 (yes TREE !!) transactional messages.
(sending at max-msg-rate 10/h)

And yes, [GL01] temp. deferred ....

Yahoo is basically IMPOSSIBLE to deliver to and their standards are pre-historical.
And I'm not the only one , there's a lot of buzz around Yahoo delivery in the industry

I'm assuming he got the famed "GL01" death error.
I too struggle with the warming up. my open rate is 70-80% too with a fbl percent of .01% and still i have trouble. So this is the major issue. If my users are all engaged, and literaly 0-1 users click spam, how the H is yahoo not pleased?

hello,
I'm working in yahoo, i started warming 6 individual Ip's from 2 different class with 500 mails per IP per day continued for a week then increased to 750 mails as 3 rounds of 250 mails in a day. by 2nd week i lost 3 Ips. our impression and clicks are 20% and 5% respectively with less than 1% FBL.
The IP's which i'm sending are not black listed. is there any website or link to check the ip's past reputation for yahoo!
any guide lines how to improve the warming process?
