Reporting in the PowerMTA Management Console, Part II: Domain Reporting

Reporting is critical to Email Deliverability.  In this blog post, the second installment of a three part series on Reporting in v1.0 of the PowerMTA Management Console, we’ll discover reporting across all your domains.  Our development team is already on R10 of version 1.0, so development is speeding up based on requests from clients.  We’ve covered “bounce categorization in part 1“, last week.  Today, we’ll discover how you can obtain pinpoint reporting across all your sending domains, which will help quickly identify deliverability bottlenecks.  Below are the “report options” that you will find under the sub-navigation menu item for domains.  There are eight different columns, with time presets, along with a drop down menu that will show you up to 50 different domains.

Under Domains, you’ll find these reporting options:

  • Top Recipients:  Lists the top 10-50 domains based on the number of total recipients (delivered + bounced).  It includes the domain name, total recipient counts, delivered counts, bounced counts, bounce ratio (bounced counts as a percentage of total recipients for the domain), average time in the queue across the messages, maximum time in the queue for the longest queued message, and the percent of total recipients for the domain as compared to the total recipients across all domains.
  • Top Delivered: Lists the top 10-50 domains based on the delivered counts.   Includes the domain name, total recipient counts, delivered counts, bounced counts, bounce ratio (bounced counts as a percentage of total recipients for the domain), average time in the queue across the messages, maximum time in the queue for the longest queued message, and the % of total recipients for the domain as compared to the total recipients across all domains.
  • Top Bounced: Lists the top 10-50 domains based on the bounced counts.
  • Hourly BreakdownThis report requires use of the Domains filter. Lists both a total and hourly breakdown of total recipient counts (delivered + bounced), delivered counts, bounced counts, and bounce ratio (bounced counts in the hour as a percentage of total recipients in the hour) for the Domain specified in the filter.

In our final installment next week, we’ll cover reporting in VirtualMTAs in the PMC.   Below is a screenshot within a 12 hour window, showing the Top 20 Domains in a given queue.
